Situated on the outskirts of Worcester in Powick is the The Great Worcester Maze. A fun family day out organised by a family on their farm.
Rob and Clare Colton along with their children Rosie and Effie have been running the Maize Maze since 2006. At the time the family we milking a 60 head herd of Holstein Dairy Cows, Rosie was just finishing her GCSE's and Dad (Rob) was looking for diversification ideas and put Rosie on the job of research. The field used for the maize maze has always had maize grown in it, and being adjacent to a main road, when Rosie found other Maize Maze's she thought this would work great at the farm.
The farm is no longer a dairy farm, now concentrating on beef and sheep with a small area of arable. The maize is used after the visitor season to feed the livestock on the farm.
The family like to offer a place where people can come and enjoy the countryside by offering a relaxed atmosphere in the courtyard where people can sit and enjoy the views of the Malvern Hills while children entertain themselves on the courtyard games.
